Last week’s Friday 10 had one, single lyric identified by the inimitable, inevitable Fred. This week, how many will we see identified?
Among the lyrics that went unidentified was “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears — a personal favorite that also happens to be central to Curt Smith’s appearance in the series Psych, in what I consider to be one of the best celebrity cameos of all time.
The rest of the lyrics are now identified both on the original post and in the by-now standard YouTube playlist! So let’s get into this week’s 10. If you know the artist and the song, get in the comments. And remember: No searching the answer up, and if you identify a different version than the one I have on my music player you still get credit — as long as it’s a version of the song I can find!
I’ve been inclined to believe they never would
Neil Diamond, “Sweet Caroline” 📺
Identified by Fred- The shadow from the starlight is softer than a lullaby
- I’m tired of fast moves, I’ve got a slow groove on my mind
We had it all, just like Bogie and Bacall
Bertie Higgins, “Key Largo” 📺
Identified by John- Never trust a big butt and a smile
Bell Biv Devoe, “Poison” 📺
Identified by John - I believe in God and Senator Dodd, and in keepin’ ol’ Castro down
- You can buy your hair if it won’t grow, you can fix your nose if he says so
Tell ’em a hookah-smoking caterpillar has given you the call
Jefferson Airplane, “White Rabbit” 📺
Identified by Fred- Satta Massagana for Jimmy Dread, cut off his ears and chop off his head
- Everybody’s always talkin’ ’bout who’s on top — don’t cross our path ’cause you’re gonna get stomped

I think I’ve heard #4, but you know how it goes.
5. Poison, Bell Biv DeVoe
I know titles 3&4 but can’t think of the artists.
Ok, I really want to say #4 is Key Largo (it is) by … Bertie Higgens? That’s the name my brain keeps trying put in that gap.
The title is correct. I was going nuts trying to remember it. But I don’t know the singer.
A letter off, but close enough for jazz. I’ll take it!
