Oh-oh And You’re Mary Tyler Moore

The front and grille of a classic white luxury car

Last week’s answers are posted, and it was a decent week! 3 lyrics identified by 1 participant, and those are good numbers for this blog. If you prefer, you can review all 11 songs as part of a YouTube playlist.

Among the songs was a little ditty familiar to all fans of MST3k.

For those who haven’t played before, every Friday I hit “shuffle” on my music player and I take the first 10 songs that come up. I grab a lyric from each one, and you get in the comments and identify the artist and the song. Additional rules: No searching the lyrics, your guess has to be at least close to the title, and I will give credit if you the artist you name covered the song and I can find that cover. It’s all honor system, tho, because the rules are made up and the points don’t matter. Let’s go!

  1. If #2 is not Jacob Marley’s Chain by Aimee Mann, it at least fits the meter.
#5 is “I Want a New Drug” by Huey Lewis & the News.
#6 is Hard to Handle, Otis Redding, covered by The Black Crowes
#10 is the Beatles, Strawberry Fields
