I’m on the road this Friday, so today’s Friday 10 is a little less ornate than usual. But the game is still on! Last week’s champion was Fred with two lyrics identified.
Here’s this week’s 10 — get in the comments and identify the artist and the song! Remember: No searching for the answers, and I give credit if you can identify a cover as long as it’s one I can find. Let’s gooo!
- And I’m in so deep, you know I’m such a fool for you
- Darling, only you are the life among the dead
- Though my eyes could see, I still was a blind man
- And all I can do is read a book to stay awake
- What’ll you do when you get lonely and nobody’s waiting by your side?
- Pour my life into a paper cup, the ashtray’s full and I’m spillin’ my guts
- Once I had a love, and it was a gas
- Oh, mother dear, we’re not the fortunate ones
- She’s so cool, gonna sneak in through her window
- I’m a racin’ car passin’ by like Lady Godiva
5. “Lonely People” by America
7. “Heart of Glass” by Blondie
8. “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper
10. “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen
I can’t quite place 1, 3, and 4.
Nice! Not right on #5, but all the rest spot on!
4. No Rain, Blind Melon
Got it!
1. Linger – The Cranberries
3. Carry On My Wayward Son – Kansas
Yes on both!
Ah! I see what I did there on #5. In my brain it scanned to the America song, but speed it up with the actual lyrics you posted, and it’s “Layla” by Clapton (or maybe his Derek and the Dominos version?).
