Fronted by Karen Pittelman, the group is at the forefront of the Queer Country movement — a movement that recognizes and supports queer voices in the country music genre while addressing and taking action against the genre’s alarming tendency toward white supremacy — as founding members and hosts of the Gay Ole Opry.
