I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly

A stage lit by red lights shining through clouds of smoke is barely visible behind hands thrown into the air by the audience.

All of the answers have been posted for the last Friday 10 (which was actually 2 weeks ago — whoops!), so you can check them out to see what the 9 that weren’t guessed were!

The one that was guessed was identified by John — R.E.M.’s “Stand.”

For those who haven’t played before the idea is that I hit shuffle on my music player (an actual, stand-alone music player) and you comment if you can identify the artist and song. The rules beyond that are simple:

  • No searchin’ for the answers
  • Covers get credit (but I have to be able to find them)
  • If you’re close and nobody gets closer, you get credit.

This Week’s Lyrics

    Maisie Peters, “Smile” ๐Ÿ“บ
  2. If I had a box just for wishes and dreams that would never come true…
Jim Croce, “Time in a Bottle” ๐Ÿ“บ Identified by John
  3. They’ll all imply that I might not last the day
    Dido, “Thank You” ๐Ÿ“บ
  4. I got the clothes, but not the face
Tom Waits, “Big in Japan” ๐Ÿ“บ
  5. His sister had another one, she paid it for a lime
Harry Nilsson, “Coconut” ๐Ÿ“บ Identified by John
  6. You sewed a button on my shirt one day
The Monkees, “Every Step of the Way” ๐Ÿ“บ
  7. They found so many scorpions inside (his lungs)
Lemon Demon, “When He Died” ๐Ÿ“บ
  8. Almost busted in Laredo, but for reasons that I’d rather not disclose
Willie Nelson, “Me and Paul” ๐Ÿ“บ
  9. Homo Sapiens have outgrown their use
David Bowie, “Oh! You Pretty Things” ๐Ÿ“บ
  10. What was whole comes apart, what was broke heals again

Also, Thudfactor runs this game, too — so you can stop by and take a crack at identifying his Friday 10 when you’re done here!

  1. 2 – Time in a Bottle, Jim Croche, or Robin the Frog if youโ€™re a muppets fan.
5 – The Coconut Song, Harry Nilsson. A favorite MST3K reference.
