The answers for last week’s Friday 10 are up! A few actually got identified this time around, although going unidentified was the perfect song to kick off a Halloween selection of lyrics. That was, of course, “Haddonfield 15 Years Later,” performed by Jared Weiss and written by Joe Iconis.
As a working songwriter on Broadway, Joe Iconis has written a ton of songs for musicals where somebody else, ultimately, got hired — or else the project wound up going nowhere. He’s also written songs for some of his friends who just really, really want to be able to sing a song based on a movie, novel, or short story they really like. A lot of those show up on his 44-track album entitled Album, including songs for musicals based on Psycho, Archie comics, and Death Becomes Her. About a year after Album dropped, he released a pared-down version based on just the horror songs named A(aaagh!)lbum.
So let’s get into these lyrics, and you guys get into the comments and get to identifying!

1. Graceland, Paul Simon.
4. Faith, George Michael
7. What Time is It?, Spin Doctors
8 is certainly ringing a bell or two.
Got all three! And what I’ll say about 8 is it’s a very popular band, but a fairly deep cut.
3. Shake It Off – Taylor Swift
It was a cover version, but full credit for the title and the original artist!
8: Think For Yourself – the Beatles
9: Linda Goes to Mars – John Prine
10: Sunday Morning Coming Down – Kris Kristofferson
Right on all three! Specifically, the version of “Sunday Morning Coming Down” that I was listening to was Johnny Cash’s.
