Let’s take another week to set my music player on shuffle and see if you guys can guess the artists and titles! There’s lots of great stuff in the list today, so here are the rules:
- No Searching.
- You only have to be close to the title. (“Um, Actually” rules apply — you get the point if you’re close, unless someone gets closer)
- I give credit for cover versions, but they have to be easy to find. “The San Jose Skillet-Lickers covered it once at a live concert in 1987 I have on audiocassette somewhere” is an awesome deep cut, but I won’t count it.
As with last time, you have until next Friday to guess. Then I’ll post the answers, and that’s it!
And if you want to see the answers for last week, they’re over on their own post!
This Week’s Lyrics
- Faith, should I take a leap?
Hikaru Utada – “Face My Fears” - I look like the first scene in SVU before the GAP ad
Sophie Hunter – “Cha Cha” - I think I saw you in my dreams, you were stitching up the seams
Skatune Network – “Such Small Hands” (La Dispute cover) - It’s just the soul that matters and keeps her satisfied
Toto – “Lovers in the Night” - The children left King Midas there as they found him [identified by Sidney]
The Monkees – “The Door Into Summer” - You be doin’ things to me that ain’t even in your tradition
Tinie Tempah – “So Addicted” - We pull up, open the door, all the girls scream “There they are!”
Big Time Rush – “The City Is Ours” - Well, your clothes hang on a wire and the sun is overhead
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers – “Don’t Fade on Me” - Don’t you know you can walk through the flame and you won’t burn
Dane Donohue – “Tracey” - Sacco and Vanzetti both have died and drifted out with the Boston tide [identified by Sidney]
Woody Guthrie – “You Souls of Boston”

Just like the last time, several of these are ringing. tiny bells but no joy!
5. Door into Summer – The Monkees
10. You Souls of Boston – Woody Guthrie
Good shot, Sidney! Both right.
That is in my top THREE Monkees songs! And I would have to turn in my Folk Musician Card if I didn’t get Woody. 🙂
