Oh-oh And You’re Mary Tyler Moore

The front and grille of a classic white luxury car

Last week’s answers are posted, and it was a decent week! 3 lyrics identified by 1 participant, and those are good numbers for this blog. If you prefer, you can review all 11 songs as part of a YouTube playlist.

Among the songs was a little ditty familiar to all fans of MST3k.

For those who haven’t played before, every Friday I hit “shuffle” on my music player and I take the first 10 songs that come up. I grab a lyric from each one, and you get in the comments and identify the artist and the song. Additional rules: No searching the lyrics, your guess has to be at least close to the title, and I will give credit if you the artist you name covered the song and I can find that cover. It’s all honor system, tho, because the rules are made up and the points don’t matter. Let’s go!

  1. Let me tell a story of my situation — I was talkin’ to this girl from the US nation
  2. Mr. Charles Darwin had the gall to ask
  3. Surrender all your dreams to me tonight, they’ll come true in the end
  4. I come into town on a night train with an arm full of boxcars
  5. One that won’t make me talk too much or make my face break out
  6. When I get through throwin’ it on you, you got to come back for more
  7. He’s not the Tom Jones that lives next door
  8. Take your time, she’s only burning
  9. I messed up tonight, I lost another fight
  10. Living is easy with eyes closed

And Thudfactor has more to identify if you need a challenge!
