Kenny Loggins’ “Footloose” was on the list last week. The 1984 single from the soundtrack to the movie of the same name spent three weeks at #1 and was ranked #4 for the year by Billboard, behind Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson’s “Say Say Say” at #3, Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It?” at #2, and Prince’s “When Doves Cry” at #1. 1984 was a great year for pop music and George Orwell novels.
